How does the Energy Connector Work?

The Energy Connector (Connector) is a platform for connecting consenting, income-verified households (leads) to subscription managers for enrollment in qualified cost-saving community solar (CS) projects with strong consumer protections.

Consumer protections built-in.

State Community Solar and LIHEAP Administrators agree to use the Connector their state and agree to consumer protections and data privacy.

State Community Solar Administrators (State CS) review, approve, and invite Community Solar Subscription Managers (Subscription Managers) to use the Connector. Subscription Managers add community solar projects to the Connector, and State CS review and approve the projects. Subscription Managers can then enroll leads in approved CS programs.

State LIHEAP Administrators (State LIHEAP) invite Local LIHEAP Agencies (Local LIHEAP) to use the Connector. Local LHEAP engages with income-qualified households during LIHEAP enrollment and offer eligible households to “opt in” to the Connector. Households can then be contacted by the approved subscription managers when enrollment is available in approved CS projects. State LIHEAP or Local LIHEAP may upload household information (leads) to the connector.
